To all my publishers out there… I’m implementing a new feature on our system. I’m deleting all balances you had previous to 2008 but am updating your current balance for this year =) My apologies for not being able to go back prior to 2008, but it’s just more accurate this way. I’m in the process of making these changes so some of you will see a current balance and others will very soon. Let me know if your balance is incorrect and I’ll fix it! Hit me up at colleen@intela.com. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Newsletter time!
“Is it spring yet?!” This seems to be the common question heard in the hallowed halls of Intela as of late. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to live here for more than a handful of Colorado’s four full seasons may not quite understand – but that is what makes everything worthwhile. The natives (term used very lightly) decide when and how much information to bestow on the fledglings. Such information as, (1) always make sure you have enough wiper fluid, (2) don’t forget to take out that ever so important sub-zero survival pack that can keep you sustained with saltines for at least a day, (3) bring snow chains, even though you probably don’t know how to use them, (4) when asked, the response should always be, “but of course I winterized my car,” (5) never, under any circumstances, decide to give into the urge to try out a runaway truck ramp, (6) no matter what lane you are driving in, it is the wrong one (because all 84 huge SUV’s that are boxing you in have deemed it so), (7) bring water with you – everywhere, (8) always dress in layers (i.e. coat, shorts, gloves, hat, beanie, t-shirt, Crocs, sunscreen, snow boots, and most importantly lip balm.
Once these few guidelines to living in Colorado are followed, everything else will fall into place. Now go find a free Wi-Fi coffee house, log into Intela.com, and let the good times roll!

Without further adieu, here is our newest newsletter!
Springtime in the Rockies. Anyone who has spent time in Colorado knows that this entails one concept, insane weather. Tuesday was a record high 82 degrees; Wednesday it snowed almost 2″ in Boulder! As I sat, developing our latest version of the Intela newsletter, I couldn’t help but have spring fever mixed with a strong desire for my winter coat (which was left at home due to the previous weather). In the back of my mind was the thought of numerous co-workers, basking in the relative warmth of ad:tech 2008 | San Francisco. Making great contacts and leads is a hard job - but let’s be honest, conventions are fun! And, as one of the “left-behinds,” I’ll be honest…I’m banking on some serious swag! “Intela went to ad:tech and all I got was this crummy ballpoint pen!”
Things are quickly getting back to normal with everyone back from the show. The parking lot is full, the dull roar around the water cooler is becoming louder, and the post-convention excitement is palpable. It’s been a week of rain, snow, sun, mac and cheese, and speeding tickets. In other words, a normal week for springtime at Intela!

Although we’re a company focused on the best ROI for our clients and our own success, we have to kick our shoes off once in a while. Friday, we did just that… and put on bowling shoes =)
Intela rented a few lanes at the local bowling alley and randomly chose teams. Our first game was regular, straight up bowling. Surprisingly enough, the two guys (Erik and Ryan) that brought their own ‘gear’ didn’t do so hot. They were all talk with a pathetic under 200 to back it up.
I surprised myself with something around a 120 (probably my best ever). And our AR girl, Morgan, came off the IR and was a trooper bowling with her opposite hand (since she has a dislocated shoulder).
We went with funky bowling for our second game. This was quite hilarious. Funky bowling is basically shooting the ball a different way each time. For instance, one turn you shoot granny style, another you shoot on one foot, etc. There were some shocking shots and some that I’m surprised we didn’t get kicked out of the alley for…
The third game we played didn’t really count since we were all complaining about carpal tunnel and seeing 20 pins at the end of the lane anyway
All in all it was a great team-building experience. All that were present enjoyed themselves tremendously as you can see in the pics… enjoy!

G’day Mate! Intela recently embarked on a voyage to the Land Down Under, attending the Ad:Tech conference in Sydney Australia! That’s right! More than a cool hangout spot for kangaroos, koalas and survivors; Australia is one of the foremost emerging markets in new media! With a population of 20 million, Aussies have an insatiable hunger not only for Vegemite, but for reaching customers and gaining brand loyalty for relevant products online. We saw a great opportunity to expand into Oz. With so much success in the UK market, it just made sense for us to pioneer a performance-based marketing revolution in Australia!
Now finally back in the states after a long journey home, we brought with us hundreds of business cards, sunburns, and a plan to make our impact in the Outback a lasting one! I’ll leave you with some of Australia’s finest slang. Enjoy!
Amber fluid - Beer
Ankle-biter - A small child.
Bag of fruit - Rhyming slang for a man’s suit.
Barbie - Barbecue.
Earbasher - Someone who talks endlessly; a bore.
Legless - Someone who is so drunk they can’t walk.
Lollies - candies
Shout - treat someone, usually to a drink “It’s your shout, mate”
Sheila - a woman (this Irish name was so popular among immigrants that it was always safe to call a woman by it)
Stark bollockers - naked (also see Nuddie)
Walkabout - to go walk around, disappear for awhile
Sickie - to take a day off work (supposedly from being sick)
Sparrow fart - Very early in the morning.

Hi folks, it has been another growing month for us here at Intela. Yesterday we had construction workers come into the office and build out more desks for our Email, IT, and Production teams. I have been with the company for a year now, (which in Affiliate Marketing terms is like equivalent to four years) and in that time I have moved five times. For some reason the space that I get becomes smaller and smaller each time, which seems counter productive to me. But I’m sure you all know the feeling. Thanks again for your support of our network, we hope to continue to grow and prosper together. Check out our latest newsletter for current offers and we will be rolling out two new exclusives over the next week. Happy early St. Patty’s Day to you all as well!

“Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that’s ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas”
Thanks to everyone who made the Affiliate Summit in Vegas such a success! It was great seeing old faces again and getting to hang out with our favorite clients. We met a lot of new people as well, which we are very excited about. I can’t wait until everyone gets back in town and sobers up so we can get some business going!
This was actually my very first time in Las Vegas so I had no idea what to expect. After a few crazy days/nights in the city of lights, I have a few words of wisdom:
1. Whatever you do - wear comfortable shoes! This might seem obvious, but you have to correctly define what comfortable shoes really are. I bought a pair of shoes specifically for the show that I thought were comfortable –but in fact they were not. Was it just me or was the conference hall about two miles away from the hotel rooms?! By the end of the show I was sporting the Media Whiz slippers, which might I add, were VERY comfortable.
2. Do NOT drink any shots that contain tabasco sauce. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
3. Always keep hand sanitizer handy. I have never shaken so many hands in my life, and now I am trying to shake off a mad cold.
4. Don’t set up breakfast meetings with clients if you are out until breakfast. This is a bad idea, unless you plan on meeting with a bottle of water, aspirin and a pillow.
5. Avoid playing the slots if you are unlucky to begin with. Let’s face it, unlucky people never win.
6. Don’t ever touch a man who is covered in blue paint. Unless you like wearing blue paint.
7. Beware of slurring drunken passengers at the airport. They might be fun to talk to, but they are not true friends.
